Eco-Schools

The Eco-Schools Programme engages young people in activities that work towards protecting the planet and addressing environmental issues from climate change to plastic pollution. It empowers young people to make a difference in their school, local community and beyond. Schools can progress through the seven-step Eco-Schools Programme, choosing three topics from a potential of ten and once they have successfully completed it, they can buy an Eco-Schools Green Flag or Plaque.

Warwickshire County Council is committed to the Eco-Schools Programme and will fund the Eco-Schools Green Flag for 50 schools per year who successfully participate in the programme. Over four years, 200 schools across Warwickshire will be funded.  The funding for the Eco-Schools Flag also funds the programme and means it can continue to run successfully.

The funding is from Warwickshire County Councils’ Sustainable Futures Strategy which sets out a goal to increase those schools who obtain the Eco-Schools Green Flag. Eco-Schools – Sustainable Warwickshire
