Transfer rounds
We follow the two national transfer rounds:
- For Year 7 places in a secondary school, the deadline for applications is 31 October and offers are made on National Offer Day (usually around 1 March each year).
- For Reception or Year 3 places in a junior school, the deadline for applications is 15 January and offers are made on National Offer day (usually around 16 April each year).

How we work
We download applications from the WCC Parent Portal (the online admissions system) every day and download applications from other local authorities every week.
We also still take a small number of applications over the phone or via email/post.
We process all applications ready for National Offer Day and every week thereafter.
Application checks
We request proof of address. Please note that all Grammar School applications have an additional process for proof of address.

| 6 - 31 January 2025 | LA exchange of offer data with other LAs (then ongoing) |
| 3 March 2025 | National offer day |
| 17 March 2025 | Begin offering any available school places, including late applications waiting an offer |
| 31 March 2025 | Deadline by which appeals must be lodged in order to be guaranteed a hearing by 16 June 2025 |
| April 2025 to June 2025 | Appeal hearings |
| 1 September 2025 | Coordinated (transfer) scheme for 2025 ends. All further applications to be considered in line with the relevant school’s In Year application process. |
