School admissions document library
We have a document library of all our key policies, arrangements and other reference documents that support, guide or report on our admissions work on the main WCC website. This is updated regularly and includes the admission arrangements for the current year, a summary of the Published Admission Numbers (PAN) for Warwickshire schools, a breakdown of primary and secondary offers for the previous year and the Fair Access Protocol.

Support for parents/carers
As a trusted source of information, schools have an important role in making sure parents/carers are aware of school admissions information and deadlines. There’s plenty of information and guidance for parents and carers on our website but you may also want to share some of these resources in your newsletters or other parent/carer communications.
- A Professional’s Guide to Supporting Parents/Carers through the School Admissions Process: a downloadable pdf guide for professionals working with parents and carers in Warwickshire.

- Starting School in Reception or Moving to a Junior School: a short video with advice and guidance on applying for a Reception or Year 3 Junior School place in Warwickshire

Our statutory responsibilities
We have two statutory responsibilities:
- Ensure every child in Warwickshire has an offer of a school place
- Ensure that we comply with the wishes of a parent/carer in expressing a preference for a particular school, unless it would prejudice the provision of education or the efficient use of resources. Therefore parent/carers have a right to express a preference for a school, but do not have a right for the child to attend that particular school.
