Educational visits
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, employers are responsible for the provision and implementation of health and safety procedures, guidance and specific advice.
With regards to school visits and off-site learning activities, this function is carried out on behalf of Warwickshire County Council (WCC) by our commissioned provider Juniper Education.
All our maintained schools (where Warwickshire County Council is the employer) must operate to guidance, standards and approval requirements issued by our commissioned provider Juniper Education. Further information and details can be found in our latest policy:
The planning, approval and management of educational visits and extra-curricular activities is managed via an online system called Evolve.
For non-maintained settings, such as academies and independent schools, the employer is usually the governing body or proprietor. These schools and education settings assume all statutory responsibility around the health and safety, planning and delivery of educational visits.
