Become a registered childminder
You must register with Ofsted or a childminder agency if you want to be paid to look after children under eight years old, for more than two hours a day in your own home.
Before registering with Ofsted or joining a Childminder Agency (CMA), you should complete training to help you understand and implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). If you choose to register through a Childminder Agency, the agency will be able to provide information about their registration process and any specific training requirements they may have.
We are unable to advise which training course you should undertake. However, organisations such as Coram PACEY, and Childminding UK offer pre-registration training options. Please note that Warwickshire County Council has not undertaken any quality assurance of the courses provided by these organisations and inclusion here does not constitute an endorsement.
